One fine day in 2019...
He came.
And he said,
“Let’s make a fishing game!”
Huh? Of all the genres in the world… fishing?
And then—before I could even react—he added:
“Online!”
The budget pressure finally broke him.
Dude really lost it.
Later that same year…
He said, “Realistic graphics aren’t gonna cut it.
We’re the anime generation, remember?
I want bright colors. Anime-style characters. Running around freely in the fields!”
> In a fishing game??
“Yes!!” he said, grinning.
Yet another day in 2019…
He goes, “The first character should definitely be a girl, right?”
> But fishing’s usually more of a guy thing…?
He cuts me off—
“Anime generation!!” he declares again.
I swear, his face was glowing.
By 2020...
I was almost certain he’d gone mad.
Then he drops this:
“Let’s give fish their own avatars.
Players will fight them, head-to-head.”
> Why not just show the fish normally??
“Because I don’t want people to know what they’re fighting until it’s over.”
“It’s more exciting when you’re curious!”
> And what if they’re not curious?
“Well… we’ll figure that out later!”
